About Dr. Elize Wethmar
Dr. Elize Wethmar stands at the forefront of the PRAM Registry, bringing her unparalleled expertise as a Gynaecological Oncologist to this transformative initiative. Dr. Wethmar’s journey in medicine began at the University of Pretoria, where she earned her medical degree. Her early career was marked by a two-year internship in Bela Bela and a year of community service, which ignited her passion for improving women’s healthcare in South Africa. These experiences, along with 18 months in emergency medicine, inspired her to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, eventually focusing on Gynaecological Oncology—a field where she truly excels.
As the founder and lead surgeon of the East Rand Multi-Specialty Oncology Board (ERMSOB), Dr. Wethmar guides a dedicated team in developing tailored surgical and oncological treatment plans that cater to each patient’s unique needs. Her qualifications include expertise in minimally invasive surgery, with advanced training in India, and an MPhil in Practical Theology specializing in medical ethics. Her commitment to ethical medical practice and patient care is a cornerstone of her professional philosophy.
